Chambéry is a city within Savoie located in the Rhône-Alpes region in France. Chambéry Aix-les-Bains Airport which is also called Chambéry-Savoie Airport lies close to the city. One of its most famous landmarks is the “Fontaine des Éléphants” which was built in 1838 to commemorate the feats of Benoît de Boigne in India. The life size statues shows the front end of four elephants resulting to the nickname from local inhabitants of “les quatre sans culs” which translates as “The four without arses”.
